Boyan Radovic, 29 years old, single. He is a regular employee of the state-owned post office, working as a delivery officer. Raising bees is an informal complementary business for him. In fact, Boyan used to offers honey during his mail rounds. He started the honey business ten years ago with only two hives. He learnt how to raise bees and produce honey from his grandfather, who owned a few hives. Today, Boyan owns a total of 120 hives split over two locations, one in the Ubli village with 70 hives – Kuçi province and the other one in Niksic with 50 hives. From May to August, he can produce 500 kilos, that he sells in 700 gram jars.
Thanks to MonteCredit loans, Boyan invested in hives, with a first loan of €4,000 to acquire 40 hives. Currently he services a €1,000 loan over 18 months, used to buy new hives.
