Ioan Popa, 46 years old, married, with two daughters. He is a vegetable grower (but also a baker and a bricklayer). The family lives in Gottlob, in Timis county. They has started farming 20 years ago and has been living out of this activity ever since. They grow spinach, tomatoes, peppers in solariums and watermelon, potatoes, cabbage, onions in the open field. Ioan and his wife are in charge of the business, with the help of the 2 daughters. All members of the family make a sustained effort, agriculture being the main source of income. They sell their products mostly in Timisoara in markets, shops, grocery stores, etc. The family owns 5 hectares of land in the property, part of which was purchased from loans accessed from Vitas.
Ioan and his family have received several loans from Vitas, depending on their agriculture needs. They mainly used them for working capital, but also for investments such as land acquisition, equipment acquisition, and construction. Now, they plan to start production during winter with heating systems.
